Ancrum Gardens
Ancrum Gardens is a historic garden designed by Fletcher Steele in 1928 in Delaware County, New York.
In the visual identity, I wanted to emphasize the historical component in addition to the garden component. I used the typeface Algerion from the Victorian Era and created the icon based on one of the garden’s architectural features.
Naturally, green was chosen as the primary color. However, a pure hue was chosen as bright green looked too new (and took away from the “historic” compone), and a dark green looked too old and outdated.
